The XT-2-L is probably one of the easiest basses to travel with for any guitar lefty. The overall length is only 38 ½” so it fits in a lot of places other larger bass guitars will not. But don’t let that small stature fool you. The neck has a 34” scale length with 24 standard bass frets. A super slim 14” neck radius makes it a dream to play.

What really makes this left bass guitar noticeable is the design and how it looks. For starters, there is no headstock. That headless neck is a trademark of Steinberger and believe me, it works on this model as it does on all the XL series basses. The tuning keys are at the bottom, so the strings run opposite of all standard instruments. The tuners are part of the bridge and feature a 40:1 turn ratio.

The pickups are EMG Select Humbuckers at the bridge and neck positions. These pickups are passive, so they are dependent on the player to tell them what to do, which leads us to the controls on the left bass guitar. Each pickup has its own volume control knob plus there is a master tone as well. The result is a myriad of tone possibilities and stylish sounds.

The entire left bass guitar is made of maple, but the construction is something you have to know about. The neck is constructed of three pieces of maple with the center piece running through the body, giving the guitar lefty player a neck through experience. The body is also a three piece construction with no seams visible.

Because of the way the Spirit is built, the vibration of the strings runs all the way through the left bass guitar and creates a super sustainability and more resonance than I am used to seeing in guitars of this price range. Any guitar lefty will do well to grab one of these left basses.

The maple neck is overlaid with rosewood and is absolutely silky to the touch and fast on the action. With the 4 bass strings reverse strung, the basic tone of the instrument is extraordinary. If you are looking for versatility and a way to look good while sounding excellent, this is the guitar lefty’s wet dream.

As with all guitar and bass players, especially left bass players, stage presence is an important aspect. The Steinberger headless neck and the aerodynamic looking body design deliver that almighty charisma. When you step out with this left bass guitar strapped on, the audience will take notice. This brings the audience into your mojo, guys and girls.

I think you’ll stop at this one, though, because I did – you’ll find the Steinberger XT-2-L left bass guitar awesome.

The first time I ever heard of Epiphone, I was a kid of about 16. I wanted to play a really great guitar and I was at a music store that had an Epiphone left hand Les Paul on display. Like a stupid kid, I thought that all left hand guitars were Epiphone left hand guitars. I could not have been further from wrong, as I later found out. Then I spied with my little eye an Epiphone Les Paul Custom electric guitar, left hand model that was as black as night and as pretty as anything I had ever seen.

I wondered at the way it was flipped over and actually MADE for a left handed player. Then I looked deeper and did some research that I hope you will benefit from here. The Epiphone left body and top are a conglomeration of Mahogany and Alder woods offset by gold hardware all around. Now I thought that because Mahogany is a very hard wood (and it is), it wouldn’t do well in a guitar.

Mahogany may be hard but it transfers sound fantastically. The tone just pulses through the wood and flows like warm milk from the strings. The Epiphone left neck is also made of Mahogany and is a set type neck joint. That means that the neck inserts into the body a bit and bolts onto the rear of the body. This allows the sweet music to emanate through the neck material and into the body. This gives the instrument a great degree of sustain.

The fret board is overlaid with Rosewood and has a block inlays that resemble Mother of Pearl which is a nice contrast to the solid black color of the Mahogany. Besides the beautiful black finish and the gold contrasting hardware, the Epiphone left hand LP Custom comes equipped with 2 Classic Alnico humbucking pickups, two (2) volume controls, two (2) tone controls and the signature 3-way pickup switch opposite the cutaway. The controls are Gibson styled and make this one the electric guitar left handers should seek out.

Get one Now

This Les Paul electric guitar left me speechless, my fellow musicians, and it wasn’t even a Gibson! Naturally, I went to a friend who DID have a Gibson Standard Les Paul and played alongside with him. To my amazement, I could not tell the difference between the tone of my Epiphone and his $1500 Gibson Standard Les Paul left. What an eye opening experience and it made me an Epiphone player for many years afterward.

The Epiphone Left hand Les Paul Custom is usually in stock. As a matter of fact, the folks there want you to visit look around some and see that they are serious about electric guitar left handers. They take the southpaws seriously and make every effort to see that you get the best left hand guitar for the money you spend.

If you're a left-handed bass guitarist, then the Rogue LX200BL Series II left bass guitar may be your answer to the question of a quality instrument at a very affordable price. Or, if you would love to be a latter-day Paul McCartney, you could check out a Rogue left hand violin bass. Either way you go, you'll sound great and look great without blowing your music budget.

Rogue LX200BL Series II Left Bass Guitar

Those who have played this instrument have raved about its "consummate playability" and called it a "sonic monster" or just plain "unbelievable". This four-string Rogue bass gives you an extended maple neck, a fast and easily accessible rosewood fretboard, and single-coil as well as traditional-style covered pickups. The Rogue LX200BL Series left-handed bass guitar also features two tone and two volume controls, sleek black hardware, and die-cast machine heads. You will look great while being the complete master of your sound and feel.

As one left-handed bassist who went in search of a quality low-priced bass has put it, "Right out of the box, I am impressed with this little bass. Is it a vintage Fender? Well, no. But it has decent action (after a set up), and the sound is not bad. I had to do some set up because the action (out of the box) was a too high for my tastes…If you are used to doing your own set up, you know that adjusting for this is no big deal…For this bass, I used Fender light weight flat wounds 9050 L… With the really low action and the good strings, this baby is really working out well. If I end up playing bass (instead of one of my other instruments)…this will do a more than respectable job. Even if I step up to a Fender Jazz Bass in a few months, I'll keep this, and string it with some kind of esoteric strings like Fender nylon filament round wounds to get an different sound out of it."

Rogue Left-Handed Violin Bass

If you've ever considered playing the violin bass guitar, then the Rogue VB100 Series II violin bass could be your perfect choice. This European-style, lightweight, and resonant hollow-body bass gives you a flamed maple arched back and top along with a traditional 31" scale. You will also be treated to a custom trapeze tailpiece, a pearloid pick guard, and body binding on both its back and its front. This serious instrument is an imitation re-make of the original that plays and feels just like it but at only a fraction of the original cost.

The style that was made famous by McCartney can become your own style. Learning how to play the left-hand violin bass can give you a unique sound and feel that will make you stand out from the crowd of other bassists.

Summation

For the left-hander, the Rogue LX200BL Series II left-handed bass guitar can make a powerful first-time bass, backup instrument, or co-primary bass. The Rogue violin left bass guitar can be the same for someone who wants to have a McCartney-like or totally unique style.

There you have it. Get a great bass guitar on a very limited budget today!
