For many years, Epiphone left hand guitars have been a way for musicians to start their career. This left hand guitars are a great value for many reasons. The workmanship is fantastic, the quality rivals that of original Gibson models and the price is attainable for just about any wallet.

The Epiphone guitar Company was founded in 1873 by Greek luthier Anastasios Stathopoulos. He manufactured guitars for a while before succumbing to economic pressures during World War 2. At that time, Gibson was able to simply acquire the fledgling company. To this day, Gibson still manufactures instruments under the Epiphone name.

Epiphone and Gibson

Prior to the acquisition by Gibson, Epiphone left and right guitars were a rival to Gibson. The sound quality was magnificent, the materials were the same and the electronics were just as superior. If Epiphone had not been absorbed by Gibson, I am sure the company would have either rivaled or bypassed Gibson eventually.

When it comes to a guitar lefty, a good instrument can be hard to find. Epiphone left hand guitars are every bit as good as a Gibson, only more affordable in many cases. It is important for the controls and knobs to be oriented the same for a right hand guitar. Epiphone left hand instruments provide this detail nicely. No longer do left hand players need to use a right hand guitar with the strings and bridge reversed and the controls backwards.

Epiphone Casino Hollow Body

One of the most famous Epiphone left hand guitars is the left handed Casino hollow body. This beauty looks like a Gretsch and was responsible for the Beatles famous sound in the 1960's. The Beatles bought three Casinos and used them to record and play live shows as they toured. Obviously, the Epiphone left hand guitar was good enough for Paul McCartney.

Another well known Epiphone left hand guitar is the Epiphone LP left hand. I personally own an Epiphone Les Paul left and it is a pleasure to play live and in studio. I have used it for blues, jazz and even classical tracks at times. In addition, I can crank the volume on the pickups and jam with the metal heads.

All in all, Epiphone left hand guitars are an investment that can be trusted. There are web sites that focus on guitar lefty players. One such site is lefthanddguitarmall. These folks know left hand guitars and Epiphone left instruments especially. The site has a selection of instruments available and there is always someone there to answer questions or concerns you may have.

So if you are looking for an Epiphone left hand guitar, get on over to lefthandedguitarmall as soon as possible. You will not find a more guitar lefty focused site anywhere and they really care about left hand players finding the right guitar. An Epiphone left hand guitar is the way to start off that career, especially for those on a budget and can't quite afford that Gold Top LP just yet. Epiphone means quality and quality means a happy player.

The name just rolls off the lips like melted butter: Gibson Les Paul Custom left handed guitar in Ebony. You just want to keep saying it to yourself. But that is all indulgent on my part as I LOVE the LP’s- Gibson left handed guitars are the choice of the seasoned professional.

Now a Les Paul Custom is the top of the line, state of the art piece of musical equipment and is played by numerous notable professionals. There is a reason for that and this article will explain the superior quality in this model of Les Paul left hand instrument.

First, there are the materials involved, which are nothing short of magnificent. The body of the Custom LP is either solid Mahogany or Mahogany with a carved Maple top. The neck is constructed of Mahogany as well, but the major player on this axe is the fret board.

Made of Ebony

The fret board is made of the purest Ebony you have ever seen. Between the Mahogany body/neck and the Ebony fret board, the resonance and sustain provided by this Gibson left handed instrument is just overwhelming. The guitar takes its name from that Ebony fret board as well as the deep, black gloss finish. It actually LOOKS like a piece of Ebony as you hold it.

The neck joint is a set joint style and that is significant in the world of guitar construction. As opposed to a bolt on that allows for some measure of vibration, a set joint neck is actually inserted into the body and clamped in place, then bolted down for security. The result is your tone flowing from the neck down through the body like a running river. This is signature tone, even in a Les Paul left handed guitar.

Another very different part of the Custom Les Paul left hand guitar is that the neck joins the body at the 16th fret. There is a cut away on the underside of the neck so you have easy access to frets 16 through 22. Speaking of frets, the one on the Les Paul left are uncharacteristically low and flat as the usual medium jumbos normally installed on Custom LP's.

As the sound hits the body, it is picked up by the Humbucker pickups of which there can be two or three. If it has two, they are at neck and bridge positions; with three, you get neck/middle/bridge positioned pickups. Originally, the pickups were P90s, but the Humbucker smoothed out the tone and made it creamy and glass like.

Tie set of super light strings onto this Gibson left handed guitar and you are on your way to a sonic nirvana. The Custom Les Paul left handed guitar is a bit heavy, but that’s due to the materials used. Mahogany and Ebony are dense woods and they carry some weight. The bright side is that all that wood makes for extra sound transference.

You can expect to pay a bit more for any Gibson left handed guitar or a Les Paul left hand instrument, but the money is well invested. The tone is phenomenal, the feel is great and the playability is unequaled anywhere.
