Made from three layers of wild cherry wood that has been laminated, you will find the tone of this guitar to be a beautiful mix between a mahogany and a maple guitar.

Woods Used

The Seagull series represent one of the world's outstanding acoustic left hand guitars. The sides and back of each model is made from a three-layer lamination of wild Cherry wood. The special sound these guitars make land somewhere between the mellow of a Mahogany and the bright sound of Maple. Because Wild Cherry has proven to be an excellent tone wood, grown locally and ecologically friendly, the wood is featured in all their original series.

Award Winning

The Seagull S6 original is the winner of several different awards. These awards have been won partly due to the handmade and finished neck, the solid cedar top, and the sexy smooth sounds. It is also a great entry level guitar that is easy to learn and play for years to come. The custom polished finish also makes the guitar one of the best looking guitars on the market.

Other Exciting Features

The Seagull S6 Original guitar was actually made with the left handed guitarist in mind which is something you can't find very easily. Right handed players can also take advantage of this guitar, so it's a universal option for all. The built in saddle helps to keep your tone and to keep the strings from needing tweaking all the time just to get the sound you are looking for.

History of Seagull Guitars

The story of Seagull guitars wouldn't be complete without mentioning La Patrie. It is a small village in the Eastern Townships of Quebec with a population of about 475. About half of these people are guitar builders and do take a lot of pride in the Seagul guitars they create.

The bass, volume, and treble controls that are built into this guitar make it one powerful option for people of all ages. You can easily learn any song on this thing without having to sacrifice the rich sound that is needed to make the songs really shine as you play them.

Acoustic and Electric Left Hand Travel Guitars: There are acoustic left hand travel guitars that are easy to travel with and look more like a lute than a guitar. While they have a full sized 15 fret neck, they may have a small narrow bell shaped body. There are electric left hand traveling guitars that look more like a cricket bat than a guitar, but they have features like a whammy bar and full tonal value. They also have models with removable necks, fold-down necks and other great features for traveling guitarists. Origins of the Traveling Guitar: The travel guitar was created due to a need of having a guitar that was small enough and strong enough to take anywhere and endure anything with a sound that would want to make you play it all the time rather than just traveling. For many performers that spend their life in airplanes, a travel guitar just makes good sense and can work out as part of the act if their regular guitar gets delayed in shipping or transport. Unique Designs of Travel Guitars: A Stowaway left hand travel guitar is a unique solution to travel guitar design, which is a guitar that has a neck that can be quickly removed and stowed diagonally across the back of the guitar in a nifty pouch, storing the whole guitar in a nice, little, compact case. It gives you great sound value, but has a special lock on removable neck for storage that makes it easy to carry with you, wherever you go. Another nifty innovation in left hand travel guitars is the Centrefold guitar, that actually has a neck that unlocks and folds back onto the body, the strings are wound around the rotating bridge and tuning is not affected during the whole process. It is not only revolutionary in design, but at its smallest is only the length of the neck. A left handed travel guitar made by Martin called the Backpacker sets the standard in travel guitars, light as a feather and can be strapped in its nylon carrying case or strapped around your shoulders. Don’t let the lightweight of the left hand traveling guitar fool you- it is ruggedly built for outdoor camping, sitting around the campfire singing, hiking or summer music festivals. While the neck doesn’t remove or fold back on itself, it is thin and lightweight, making it easy to carry.

When you look at somebody playing a guitar left handed you have to tell yourself that they aren’t playing backwards and those who are left handed have some great choices in guitars. Because left handed guitarist search for the perfect guitar sound they have to look for the best left handed guitar woods first. Left handed guitar tones come second lets look at some of the best information available. Left handed guitar woods make the quality of the guitar, you know the beauty of a hard wood floor or a well crafted piece of furniture, having a certain class of wood says everything about your guitar.

Jimi Hendrix and Dick Dale are the most famous faces to play left handed. These southpaws allowed those who pick up a guitar and hold it opposite from the rest of the right handed gitfiddle players hope that they could still play the instrument that attracts the ladies. And if you’re a lady, impress the guys. Your instrument should fit you perfectly and be one that you will cherish like a new car. Whether you play guitar left or bass left like Paul McCartney there is an instrument made for you.

All Woods Are Not The Same

Cheap wood is noticeable; you can tell it when you see it. A guitar that is made out of particle board wouldn’t last very long on the market because the look isn’t attractive. A guitar that is made out of Walnut or Maple is just a beautiful work of art. Rosewood is a very pretty wood, its heavy and its usually reserved for the neck or fret board of the guitar. Searching for a guitar that looks good is only part of the process, many guitar companies finish or paint their guitars so finding out what type of wood is underneath can be a mystery. If you find a guitar you like hold it close and then knock on it, you’ll be able to tell the difference between one and another.

Your Guitar Says a Lot about You

Whether you add some stripes to it strip it down or just mark it up, your style should be written on your guitar. Depending on what type of music you play your left handed guitar woods are important. If you are looking for one that isn’t painted its best to know what is available from your local store. You may have to search for one that catches your eye, let your guitar chose you. Left Handed Guitar Mall has plenty of instruments available so you can feel like a kid in a candy store.

Tone Isn’t Just a Color

Another important aspect of playing guitar is the left handed guitar tone. Sure, the strings give you feel you want but the tone is in the pickups. Single or double humbuckers make all the difference. You can listen to some of your favorite guitar players and hear their distinct sound and if you want to mirror that you’ll need to get their type of equipment. Left handed guitar tones tell the listener if you italicize towards blues or hard rock.

Name Your Guitar and Treat Her Right

Every guitar player should name their guitar, B.B. King named his Lucille and you know that he can make her sing. Your guitar will cause you to concentrate on playing more than sleep or work, give your guitar a name that reflects who you want her or him to be. It’s all about attitude and gratitude.

In conclusion, knowing the importance of guitar woods and tones will help anybody who wants to play guitar find their own personal statement. Shopping for a guitar isn’t like anything else. You will have to play many guitars until you find the one that reflects you, you can plug the same guitar into one hundred amplifiers but if it doesn’t feel good in your hands its not worth the effort. Left handed guitar tones should be something you create. Instead of copying somebody else’s style you should find one of your own. Nobody ever got famous by being part two.
