When you think or talk about electric guitars, the Les Paul left hand guitar usually comes to mind right away. The Les Paul guitar lefty body style is the most recognized one in the music industry. It is a versatile and widely used guitar with many configurations and models to select from. Les Paul left hand guitars are a thing of beauty.

The Les Paul is named after the man who invented the electric guitar in 1941. That first guitar was called “the log” and was extremely crude, but was the first amplified guitar anywhere. Eleven years later, in 1952, the Gibson Guitar company began building the Les Paul guitar and music was changed forever.

When Mr. Paul designed that first guitar, he was only 13 years old. By the following year, 1929, he was playing a working model of the electric guitar. He continued working on the design for the next few years until Gibson picked it up and began production in 1952.

Over the years, many guitar manufacturers have produced guitars in the Les Paul body style. Of course, there has always been a need for quality left hand guitars and so the Les Paul left hand guitar was a natural progression. Guitar lefty players now had a guitar available to them that sounded good, looked good and had great stage presence.

The Les Paul left hand guitar is one of many that are offered at the site, but are extremely popular. This is primarily due to the versatility of the Les Paul left hand guitar. The LP is used in a wide variety of genres including country, rock, metal, blues and jazz. The controls on the Les Paul give the musician an unbelievable range of control over the tone of the instrument.

Les Paul left guitars are made in all types of material like mahogany, maple or basswood. There are bolt on neck types and neck-through designs as well. Fret boards can be maple, mahogany, rosewood or any of a number of other materials.

Les Paul left hand guitars can be found with two or three pickups. Most use dual coil humbuckers, but some have been built with other combinations. A tremolo bar is another possibility that can be added for further versatility, especially to the guitar lefty players out there.

The Les Paul left guitar will also have a three position pick up selector on the top. There are two sets of volume/tone controls that operate the neck and bridge pickups. If there is a center pick up, it is wired in series with the neck pickup and runs hot.

Among guitar lefty players, the Les Paul left hand guitar is a dream come true. Whatever style of music you play, whether professional or just playing leisurely the Les Paul is the right one for you.

Ovation has been designing and producing guitars for many years now. They have made a mark in the guitar world as revolutionary designers and producers. In fact their acoustic guitars date back to the mid 60’s. There is no doubt that they will continue to release even more uniquely designed guitars for the world to enjoy. Ovation has now gone into the left handed guitar making industry to cater for an untapped segment.

Details of a Work Horse – Ovation Left Handed Acoustic Guitar

The design of the Ovation Standard is one of pure genius. It is no ordinary design which makes it so versatile and unique. It is a left hand spruce top and mid depth bowl that produces a full and rich sound. It gives a whole new dimension to the music that you play. It is great for not only the professional musician but also for the novice users. This left handed guitar has a comfortable and easy feel to it making playing it enjoyable.

It has a Piezo pick-up and an OP11 preamp with an accompanying 3-ban EQ that is sure to deliver that lush and plugged in sound. The fret board is made of Rosewood and is littered nicely with diamond and dot inlays. The bracing is also modified Quintad. It also has chrome tuners, walnut bridge which has a nut width of 1-7/8 inches and a scale of 25-1/4 inches. Its’ pre shape circuit gives it great tonal flexibility. In addition to all these, there is an Ovation Oak leaf rosette that completes the entire package on the Ovation standard left handed acoustic guitar.

The Bottom Line

There is only one problem with this Ovation left handed acoustic guitar. It carries quite a price tag. Online reviews give it an average rating of four to five out of five. This is a testament of the quality and work that Ovation had placed in this left handed guitar.

The original tenor guitars were a smaller version of a steel-string guitar, developed so that people who played the tenor banjo with four strings could double on the guitar. It was later that the solid body tenor left handed electric guitars came along.

Pricing:

Tenor electric guitars are still available in original vintage models dating back to the 1920’s. You can find some of the vintage tenor electric guitars from $1200 on up to $8,000. You can buy new tenor left handed electric guitars for the bottom part of the range, making them a good deal compared to some of the vintage models.

Tuning:

The tuning of tenor left handed electric guitars is identical to a four sting tenor banjo. The strings are tuned to C-G-D-A, typically. This tuning pattern is so that six string guitar players don’t have to re-learn scales and chords, so many guitar enthusiasts choose the tenor electric guitar for this reason as an alternative instrument.

Because they are tuned in fifths, you can also tune them to G-D-A and E, which is especially helpful when playing Irish music and playing with fiddles, mandolins and other instruments tuned this way. It is also popular in contemporary fold, pop and other Celtic or ethnic style music, as well. Others opt for tuning them similar to an electric ukulele using D-G-B-E, although the sound may be too bright for some.

History to Current Usage:

The tenor guitar dates back to the late 1920’s as an alternative to the four stringed tenor banjo. Original versions were shaped like a lute, and the very first production instruments were acoustic tenor guitars that were true wood-bodied made by Martin and Gibson. Throughout the years, almost all guitar makers came out with tenor models including resonator tenor guitar models by Dobro.

Current Uses:

Elvis Costello played a tenor electric guitar in the title track, Delivery Man, of his release in 2004. The only other modern player known for going with tenor guitars is rocker Lynda Kay of Lonesome Spurs. They can be hard to find, but are manufactured in America. Considered a musical oddity in previous years, they are beginning to be quite popular to guitar players and collectors. Now, you can find tenor left handed electric guitars, to fill this specialty market.

When it comes to looking for left handed guitars, including the tenor left handed electric guitar, www.LeftHandedGuitarMall.com is a recommended hub website for any music lovers looking to purchase music equipment or just seeking information on left hand instruments.

Acoustic and Electric Left Hand Travel Guitars: There are acoustic left hand travel guitars that are easy to travel with and look more like a lute than a guitar. While they have a full sized 15 fret neck, they may have a small narrow bell shaped body. There are electric left hand traveling guitars that look more like a cricket bat than a guitar, but they have features like a whammy bar and full tonal value. They also have models with removable necks, fold-down necks and other great features for traveling guitarists. Origins of the Traveling Guitar: The travel guitar was created due to a need of having a guitar that was small enough and strong enough to take anywhere and endure anything with a sound that would want to make you play it all the time rather than just traveling. For many performers that spend their life in airplanes, a travel guitar just makes good sense and can work out as part of the act if their regular guitar gets delayed in shipping or transport. Unique Designs of Travel Guitars: A Stowaway left hand travel guitar is a unique solution to travel guitar design, which is a guitar that has a neck that can be quickly removed and stowed diagonally across the back of the guitar in a nifty pouch, storing the whole guitar in a nice, little, compact case. It gives you great sound value, but has a special lock on removable neck for storage that makes it easy to carry with you, wherever you go. Another nifty innovation in left hand travel guitars is the Centrefold guitar, that actually has a neck that unlocks and folds back onto the body, the strings are wound around the rotating bridge and tuning is not affected during the whole process. It is not only revolutionary in design, but at its smallest is only the length of the neck. A left handed travel guitar made by Martin called the Backpacker sets the standard in travel guitars, light as a feather and can be strapped in its nylon carrying case or strapped around your shoulders. Don’t let the lightweight of the left hand traveling guitar fool you- it is ruggedly built for outdoor camping, sitting around the campfire singing, hiking or summer music festivals. While the neck doesn’t remove or fold back on itself, it is thin and lightweight, making it easy to carry.

When you look at somebody playing a guitar left handed you have to tell yourself that they aren’t playing backwards and those who are left handed have some great choices in guitars. Because left handed guitarist search for the perfect guitar sound they have to look for the best left handed guitar woods first. Left handed guitar tones come second lets look at some of the best information available. Left handed guitar woods make the quality of the guitar, you know the beauty of a hard wood floor or a well crafted piece of furniture, having a certain class of wood says everything about your guitar.

Jimi Hendrix and Dick Dale are the most famous faces to play left handed. These southpaws allowed those who pick up a guitar and hold it opposite from the rest of the right handed gitfiddle players hope that they could still play the instrument that attracts the ladies. And if you’re a lady, impress the guys. Your instrument should fit you perfectly and be one that you will cherish like a new car. Whether you play guitar left or bass left like Paul McCartney there is an instrument made for you.

All Woods Are Not The Same

Cheap wood is noticeable; you can tell it when you see it. A guitar that is made out of particle board wouldn’t last very long on the market because the look isn’t attractive. A guitar that is made out of Walnut or Maple is just a beautiful work of art. Rosewood is a very pretty wood, its heavy and its usually reserved for the neck or fret board of the guitar. Searching for a guitar that looks good is only part of the process, many guitar companies finish or paint their guitars so finding out what type of wood is underneath can be a mystery. If you find a guitar you like hold it close and then knock on it, you’ll be able to tell the difference between one and another.

Your Guitar Says a Lot about You

Whether you add some stripes to it strip it down or just mark it up, your style should be written on your guitar. Depending on what type of music you play your left handed guitar woods are important. If you are looking for one that isn’t painted its best to know what is available from your local store. You may have to search for one that catches your eye, let your guitar chose you. Left Handed Guitar Mall has plenty of instruments available so you can feel like a kid in a candy store.

Tone Isn’t Just a Color

Another important aspect of playing guitar is the left handed guitar tone. Sure, the strings give you feel you want but the tone is in the pickups. Single or double humbuckers make all the difference. You can listen to some of your favorite guitar players and hear their distinct sound and if you want to mirror that you’ll need to get their type of equipment. Left handed guitar tones tell the listener if you italicize towards blues or hard rock.

Name Your Guitar and Treat Her Right

Every guitar player should name their guitar, B.B. King named his Lucille and you know that he can make her sing. Your guitar will cause you to concentrate on playing more than sleep or work, give your guitar a name that reflects who you want her or him to be. It’s all about attitude and gratitude.

In conclusion, knowing the importance of guitar woods and tones will help anybody who wants to play guitar find their own personal statement. Shopping for a guitar isn’t like anything else. You will have to play many guitars until you find the one that reflects you, you can plug the same guitar into one hundred amplifiers but if it doesn’t feel good in your hands its not worth the effort. Left handed guitar tones should be something you create. Instead of copying somebody else’s style you should find one of your own. Nobody ever got famous by being part two.

Musical enthusiasts, looking for important and relevant information on left handed guitars, will be interested in the large range of Left Handed guitars available. While it used to be that left-handed guitars were only available on limited basis at a premium, it is now easier to find classics, such as-the Left handed guitar Jackson, Left Handed Taylor, Left Handed Fender, Left handed Gibson and even left handed banjos.

While left handed instruments used to be harder to come by, many of the classic guitar manufacturers have realized there is a demand from left handed guitarists that feel more comfortable and are better skilled at left hand guitars, than traditional right handed ones. It used to be that right handed guitars would be adapted for use, or guitarists had to transpose chords to play left handed, but that is no longer the case.

Left Handed Gibson:

Gibson Guitar Company was one of the first to launch a solid body, steel string, electric guitar. They later became famous for the Les Paul model, named after the guitarist and designed with some of his input. It is possible to get all kinds of left handed Gibson guitars, including the Les Paul, which still remains a favorite. The left handed Gibson guitars have options that mimic some of the retro 60’s and 70’s models.

Left Handed Fender:

Fender Instrument Company was another of the first in this class, with their Telecaster model. Later adding a vibrato bridge that made Fender famous with its Stratocaster, they remain popular, even in the left handed guitar market. Left handed Fender guitars are much the same as Gibson, in that you can still get the popular models with options in different price ranges.

Left Handed Guitar Jackson:

Jackson Guitars are an innovator in the field, even though they have been around three decades. Famous for their futuristic designs and appearances, such as V-shaped electric guitars, some of their top models include: Kelly, King V, Double Rhoads, Soloist, Dinky and Concert Bass guitars. Available in a left handed guitar Jackson is still popular with many of the top names in the performing field, and builds custom guitars, as well.

Left Handed Taylor Guitars:

Taylor has introduced a new semi-hollow T3 line of electric guitars that offers the option of a vibrato bridge. Taylor offers a robust acoustic line of guitars with different body shapes, woods and tonal possibilities. Left handed Taylor guitars are a popular option for many left handed guitarists, and offer a selection of acoustic and electric guitars with different options.

Left Handed Banjos:

In the bluegrass world, it is hard not to mention that banjos have now come out with left handed banjos that are readily available. Any musician that has an interest in stringed instruments, might readily adapt to a banjo in certain circumstances, and with left handed banjos on the market, they are sure to become more popular, which it comes to accompaniment choices.

If you are a left handed musician, there is a world of possibilities, when it comes to left handed instruments, go to the experts for recommendations on the one most suited to your needs.

Left handed Yamaha guitars are rated high in quality and affordable in price by left handed guitar players. The Yamaha Company, the Japanese company previously known as Nippon Gakki Company, got into the music business in 1897 focusing primarily on pianos, and didn’t break into the guitar business until 1942, when they came out with their first acoustic guitar. Since that time, and with the name change to Yamaha over 40 years ago, they have introduced electric guitars and pianos, which is what they became famous for, in the musical division of the company. The Yamaha Company is a widely diverse company that is successful in many different lines of products. Guitars and Pianos are the mainstays of the instrument division, and a left handed Yamaha is available in many of the different models of acoustic and electric guitars they make.

Left Handed Guitars or Right Handed Guitars?

Many left handed guitar players may chose to adapt a right handed guitar by changing the nut and the bridge to allow the strings to fit. Acoustic guitar bracing is non-symmetrical, but adapting an electric guitar can cause problems when it comes to the controls. It is possible to find left handed Yamaha guitars, in acoustic or electric, at an affordable price, and it is a top-rated choice of many amateur guitarists. Left handed guitars allow the controls to be in the proper configuration and alleviate the challenges of adapting to an upside down right handed guitar, and can make life easier for a left handed player. Some left handed people can play guitar right handed, and use a right handed guitar, and some are not ambidextrous and can’t play right handed on a right handed instrument.

Dominant Hand Determines The Best Fit:

Your strongest guitar playing hand will be the one that is most comfortable at picking or strumming. Others may determine that by how you hold the guitar the first time you pick it up. You can also test by clapping your hands and the most dominant hand will be the one that does the most movement. If you use both hands or the right hand does more, then you might be able to play a right handed guitar.

Whether you are just starting out as a left handed guitar player, or have decided to purchase a left handed Yamaha, you will find many models and selections to choose from. Left handed Yamaha guitars are a quality made, affordable left hand configuration that is backed by a well established and successful company.

One of the important things when looking into any instrument is making sure that the instrument works for you as a musician. Check with local stores first before heading online to see if one is available locally. This will give you the opportunity to determine if the left handed guitar that you are looking at is going to provide you with the sound that you want.

Electric guitars can offer a wide range of sounds and features. They help to expand the musical range available through guitars and previously being a left-handed guitarist meant a custom-made instrument or meant limiting your options when it came to brands, sounds, and features. Instrument makers however have begun to listen to those players who are left handed and have created models or modified current lines.

Left-handed guitars are less plentiful than their right-handed counterparts even within the same company are. However, many companies have begun to offer off the shelf as well as custom models to accommodate any musician that is in need of an instrument. Guitars are especially popular and having a left handed electric guitar or guitars available means that any musician that is in need of an instrument whether they are left or right handed can find what they need to express their art to its fullest. So if you are looking for a left handed electric guitar that suits you or your needs, the left handed Schecter Hellraiser will surely not disappoint.

Fender Musical Instruments produced some of the classic, solid body guitars like the Telecaster before becoming famous for the Stratocaster, which came with a vibrato or tremolo bridge. It has been used by famous performers, like Jimi Hendrix, who played a left handed Fender Stratocaster. The company was started in 1946 by Leo Fender, a southern California inventor that never played the guitar, himself. He came up with the solid body guitar after much thought on how to improve a hollow body instrument.

When the first Stratocaster came out in 1954, Fender had perfected the bridge that allowed players to bend the strings with a tremolo bridge that produced a vibrato effect. The company went through some hard times after Leo Fender sold the company in 1965 because of poor health. The company revamped itself in the mid 1980’s by re-introducing the models that made it famous, namely the Telecaster and Stratocaster, which were available to purchase in a left handed Fender Stratocaster model or left handed Telecaster option.

Left Handed Fender Stratocaster:

The left handed Fender Stratocaster is the newer version of the classic, with a few more bells and whistles added. You can get a left handed Fender Stratocaster that looks like the classic models, without paying an outrageous premium for a left handed configuration, like used to be the case. There is no reason to compromise quality in a steel stringed, electric guitar and you will see your performance improve the more you fall in love with this American classic electric guitar.

Adapting a Right Handed Electric Guitar is Tough:

Left handed players that have adapted a right handed electric guitar spend additional energy adapting to the backward controls. When that energy is put into playing, they concentrate on getting the best tone from the left handed Fender Stratocaster, which is what it is known for. The improvement in the music quality is greatly enhanced and the performance of left handed guitars for a left handed guitarist improves dramatically.

When looking to purchase left handed guitars, the main thing to consider is whether you are truly a left handed player. There are a few simple tests that you can take, such as how you pick up the guitar naturally, and clapping your hands to see which does the most clapping movement. If you find a guitar that makes you feel comfortable, you will play better.
